J.A. Williams grew up in a family of female rebels, learning early what happens when women enter arenas where they are not welcome. That knowledge carried her through decades of work in law in the top levels of finance in The City of London, alongside life spent as a military spouse during times of war and global upheaval.

Then came the moment.

The one where she stopped asking for permission.

The one where she said F*** it.

She pivoted, walking away from a career that no longer served her to become an author, where genre conventions told her to pick a lane.

She flat-out refused.

She couldn’t find the book she wanted on any shelf, so she wrote it.
